Wireless Silicon Valley
Smart Valley has partnered with over 40 city and county IT managers, and economic development staff to form the Wireless Silicon Valley Task Force. In September 2006, the Task Force selected a team of companies that includes IBM, Cisco, Azulstar and SeaKay to build a high-speed, wireless, data network that will cover all 1,500 square miles of the region. The network will be multi-purpose, serving local governments, businesses, education, and residents.

Smart Health
Smart Valley is convening the region's major healthcare providers to develop a region-wide health information exchange. The goals are to improve healthcare and reduce costs, by providing patients and care givers the information they need, when and where they need it.

Wireless Campus
The Foothill - DeAnza College District is testing wireless technology to see how it can re-shape instruction and make classes more convenient for students. The network will be available in classrooms, offices, the library and in outdoor areas where students congregate. Community volunteers are helping with the network's design and installation. Lessons learned are being shared with all of the other community colleges in Silicon Valley.
